She now had a purpose to try and help with her illness. She wanted to get better for Luke. Analysis of Main Characters:
Theme: There were many themes throughout the book like don’t judge a book by its cover, because the person may have personal problems or illnesses that they can’t control. Never give up on yourself or others and believe you can achieve anything even if it takes you years to accomplish it. Keep hope and never let go of it. The main theme to me throughout the book was, be yourself through it all even if you have a personal problem or illness. How did the author’s life influence his writing in this novel? (2-3 paragraphs): Louise Gornall influenced her life within the writing in the novel Under Rose-Tainted Skies by writing about the mental illness that Norah goes through/has. Louise Gornal has agoraphobic. Agoraphobia is a type of anxiety disorder in which you fear and avoid places or situations that might cause you to panic and make you feel trapped, helpless or embarrassed. Most people who have agoraphobia develop it after having one or more panic attacks, causing them to worry about having another attack and avoid the places where it may happen again. Norah, the main character, developed her mental illness by an accident that occurred in her life. Norah is afraid of going outside after that accident occurred. Louise Gornall wants people to know how mental illness works and how people feel throughout the whole situation. She wants people to know how to handle a situation. She doesn’t want anyone to feel alone or scared so she expresses it through her writing. What I got from the book was she was in a classroom, a science classroom because of the lab benches, and she fainted. When she woke up she was in a hospital with stitches. She smacked her head on the corner of the lab bench. She was so scared that it would happen again that she started to fear the world outside her house.

Is there anything Luke does to make Norah feel scared because of her mental illness?

At the beginning of the book, Norah was scared of Luke touching her because of germs. Another part is he kissed her at some point and she freaked out because of the germs.

Do you think Norah would have worked through her mental illness without Luke?

I honestly don't think she would've because she didn't have the motivation to help her work through the mental illness. Once Luke came into her life she wanted to change, she wanted to become her old self again. She had a therapist that tried to help her through the mental illness but she wasn't motivated to change.
