How did the author’s life influence his writing in this novel? (2-3 paragraphs) During George Orwell's life many communist ideas were being thrown around in England. This is why it is not surprising that he had written about a communist government in his book. In George Orwell's life he strong opinions about the dangers communism. He then wrote about them in his book in scenarios where the communism goes seriously wrong. It is also a scenario where the communist government is not good because of human greed. The factor of human greed was one of the major points in why George Orwell thought that communism was not a good government system. In George Orwell's childhood he was a very shy kid. He did not have many friends and did not participate in many school functions or activities. He mostly kept to himself quietly. Later in life he wrote a paper about why he writes. He said that he writes because he wanted to make up for everything he missed out on as a kid and in high school. I think that he based Winston off of himself. Winston used to just go along and just go with the government but eventually did the right thing and tried to rebel. It is similar to how George Orwell kept to himself when he was young but proceeded to write books as he got older. Works Cited: Colls, Robert. George Orwell: English Rebel.
